We regularly update PhotoWear Classic to add new features, enhance reliability, and to fix bugs. Follow the instructions below to update PhotoWear Classic on your respective devices. Note that you may not have all of the devices listed below. Follow the instructions relevant to your devices.


Update the mobile app first, then follow the instructions below that pertains to your particular smartwatch.  


1. Updating the PhotoWear Classic Mobile App

The PhotoWear Classic mobile companion app can be updated from the Google Play Store by following the instructions here.


2a. Updating the PhotoWear Classic Wear OS (including Galaxy Watch4 & Watch5) Watch Face

The PhotoWear Classic watch face for Wear OS watches (Samsung smartwatch users see below) can be updated by following the process below:

  1. Open the Google Play app on your watch by pressing the hardware button on the side of your watch to bring up the menu or swipe up from the bottom on the Galaxy Watch4 (see illustration below).
  2. If you already have PhotoWear Classic installed, go to My Apps in the Google Play App, then find PhotoWear Classic
  3. Tap the appropriate button to update the app.


2b. Updating the PhotoWear for Samsung (Tizen) Smartwatches

If you have a supported Samsung smartwatch, please update PhotoWear by following the process below.

  1. To check the updates, you must have paired your smartwatch with your mobile phone
  2. Open the Galaxy Store app on your smartphone, then tap Watch
  3. Search for PhotoWear and then tap the button to update it (the update button should be visible if an update is available)
